Your Highness,
as the Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Kingdom of Thailand and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, I wish to express to you my highest consideration for your commitment to the many cultural initiatives you have undertaken, in affinity with Maestro Vincenzo Grisostomi Travaglini. The echoes of Your recent successes in the Philippines have reached here and I truly hope that also in our three countries of accreditation, Italian Opera can be represented at its best, for the benefit of an increasingly attentive and passionate local audience. Especially, I am glad to know that you are working on an initiative to plan a new production of “Madama Butterfly” in Phnom Penh, which I hope you will be able to realize soon. It would also be a good starting point as part of the celebrations of the Centenary of the passing of Giacomo Puccini, a highly regarded composer in Asia, which will occur in 2024. With the most fervent wish that your projects may develop with ever greater significance, in a close relationship of cultural interchange with the Kingdom of Cambodia, your native land, and with the other two countries of accreditation, please accept, Your Highness, the expression of my highest consideration.
